About the Item
A fabulous and rare Vintage Nettie Rosenstein Evening Bag. A landscape cylinder inspired design is topped with a double handle and gloriously flaunts gold micro beading in a foliate design against a gold satin backdrop. The satin story continues to the interior which showcases more attention to detail including a mirrored lid and original separate purse.
Nettie Rosenstein creations are highly prized for their extraordinary design, exceptional quality, and fabulous attention to detail. Known in the trade as ‘Miss Rosie’, Nettie Rosenstein designed high end clothing, accessories, and jewellery. Born in Austria in 1890 Nettie migrated to NYC with her family during the 1890s. Founding her business in 1917, making clothing privately, her designs rapidly gained popularity amongst high society and by the 1920s her creations were in hot demand retailing from high end stores not only in Manhattan but across the USA.
Vintage Condition: Overall exceptional condition inside and out, especially when you consider this piece was created 80-90 years ago. The handles display no obvious wear and remain sturdy and strong for use.
