About the Item

A very rare and pristine condition traditional Chinese raincoat consisting of both an apron skirt, cape and hat made entirely from palm tree and coconut fibers several layers thick. These raincoats were used by farmers, rice pickers and fishermen in southern China during the Qing Dynasty to republic era. This particular set was made in South part of China around 1930s and still maintained it's very good antique condition. Take a close look at the pictures, some of the age wear but still shows you the beautiful patina. This set is robust and can be worn at rainy days or hang on the wall with palm tree fiber rope on the neck to displayed as a superb decorative or collector's piece.
