About the Item

The statuette shows traces of the original red, black, and white pigmentation. The figure’s body, head, and hands (which in this case are lost) were all made separately to give her an essence of movement and dynamism. Given its almost identical shape to the piece from the Artemis Gallery, which is part of the Santa Barbara, California, USA collection, ex-Charles Craig collection, it is likely to share a similar origin. Period : Han Dynasty(206 BCE to 220 CE) Type : Figure Statue Medium : Pottery Terracotta Condition : Good(This artwork may appear different under various lighting conditions compared to the photograph. These pieces were typically made from a clay that fired to a gray or reddish-brown finish, with some items receiving glazed decoration.
