Rare 19th Century Oriental Brass and Marble Exotic Candle holders

About the Item

Spectacular, rare antique candlesticks to decorate your exotic summer table These are two bronze candle holders or similar. They are two Asian figures, one female and the other male walking through what is supposed to be a bamboo forest. One of them consists of 4 candle holders and the other of only 3 since he must have lost one. The set is supported on a piece of “Siena Yellow” marble, typical marble from Ialian Tuscany The couple was bought in Madrid, but we do not know their initial origin. They are spectacular pieces. Ideal to place on a long table at dinner time. Especially at these summer dinners in the garden of the Hamptons or Scarsdale. The atmosphere they can achieve will be impressive. Its condition is good, except for the loss of one of the candle holders, but that does not affect its aesthetics. It has the patina of the passage of years which gives it much more charm. They are just as we bought them, we have not touched them so as not to distort their patina. The rods where the candles are attached are made of copper or brass and the figure and the base seem to be made with Ormolu or gilded bronze.
