Both Yixing Zisha teapots appear to be modern-Republic era pieces. Yixing Zisha teapots are made from rare Zisha (紫砂) clay, which is exclusively mined in Yixing, China. This unique clay is highly porous, allowing it to absorb and enhance the aroma and flavor of tea. The teapots are handcrafted, requiring a high level of craftsmanship, and works by renowned artisans. The depletion of high-quality Zisha clay and limited production have continuously increased their rarity. The left Yixing Zisha teapot is made from yellowish-brown Zisha (紫砂) clay and is distinguished by its intricate carvings inspired by nature. The rounded body is complemented by a spout shaped like a bird's beak, while the handle is sculpted to resemble a twisted tree branch, with a small squirrel-like figure sitting atop it. The lid features a twisted branch design along with a squirrel figurine, enhancing its naturalistic theme. Additionally, the body is adorned with finely detailed grapevines, leaves, and grape clusters, reflecting the artistry and craftsmanship characteristic of traditional Yixing teapots.
