It features detailed carving works on the side and back. You can see it on the picture, very smooth to touch and full of patina. The carving works are very detailed. the chairs are solid and well balanced It is truly stunning antique chairs that hardly find in this century. Don't miss it. Size: 38 1/2"H x 24"W x 18 1/2"D each Seat: 20"H x 19"W x 16 1/2"D Tea table: 34"H x 14 1/2"W x 16"D Origin: Fujian, China Circa: 1800 - 1850 Material: Camphor wood Condition: Original finished, solid wood construction, heavy, sturdy, normal age wear. These chairs from circa 1840 are well made and retain the original split cane woven inset seat mats. The wood is finished in a deep rich red transparent lacquer giving the wood a lustrous finish . They are generous in scale and comfortable and original throughout. The arms are carved in a bamboo pattern and the central splat is decorated with a pierced Chinese linguistic character.
