About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning pair of Qing Dynasty circa 1870 hand carved solid rosewood dragon and lion foo dog throne armchairs Please note the delivery fee is just a guide, for an accurate quote please send me your postcode A really rare an expertly hand-carved pair of his and her chairs, the detail is never ending and of the highest standard, there are many variations of these chairs, they were being made up until the 1950s but by that time they were much simpler without the level of detail that these chairs have, these are some of the very early ones from circa 1870 They are the all singing all dancing fully head to toe carved pieces, they look absolutely stunning from every angle and are actually quite comfortable to sit in The condition is well used and with a stunning period vintage patina, you never find these with so much wear and character, the legs are the most worn at the very front, the paint has worn through in patches all over, the larger chair has some heavy paint peel on the back revealing the early red finish below, genuinely the vintage patina adds to the look and feel, structurally they are mostly perfect, the smaller chair has had old repairs to the front legs as pictured below Larger chair dimensions: Height:- 116cm Width:- 65.5cm Depth:- 56cm Small chair dimensions: Height:- 102.5cm Width:- 61.5cm Depth:- 56.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Delivery or collection This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses, we can have it delivered nationwide to include Scotland Wales and Ireland, please contact me with your postcode for a delivery quotation, please be sure to include which item you would like to buy as the price is determined on size and distance, if you would like more than one piece of furniture we offer a substantial discount on the second and third item, for international shipping please view the below information Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please also ask any questions before you bid and not after, all of our items are sold as seen and as listed Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
