About the Item

Rare antique Tetsubin Japanese Cast Iron Tea Kettle set on Cast Iron hibachi Stand. This unique teapot/kettle is a Tetsubin, which is a teapot in Japanese, made from heavy cast iron. Since it is antique it is best used for decorative purposes. The hot water vessel has a hobnail look textured finish on the top half and a plain mottled look on the bottom. The teapot features cherry blossom motif on one side and a Japanese character on the other side. The brass handle is movable back and forth. It is a dark brown color. The lids of each container feature a brass flower bud decorative pull. Each fit atop the iron stand to be set of burning embers to heat the water and tea. Lovely decorative piece and rare to find as a set.
