About the Item

A fine pair of Japanese Meiji period cloisonne enamel vases. By the Ohta Cloisonne workshop of Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The workshop is better known by its trade name of Daikichi. Decorated with phoenix and dragon devices on a rich goldstone ground and in cartouches to the bodie, with colorful geometric and floral patterns throughout, and with a gilt bronze rims and bases. Simply a wonderful pair of Japanese enamel vases! Date: 20th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is a small dent to the bottom of one of the vases, and both have some light spots of oxidation to the gilt elements. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Each marked to the base for Daikichi. Measurements: Height: ca. 7 1/4 in. Diameter: ca. 3 7/8 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 7 days.
