Golden Inkstone Soap Dish

About the Item

A fixture of the Chinese scholars' studio, the inkstone was among the "Four Treasures of the Study" and was used in calligraphy and landscape painting along with paper, ink and brush. This contemporary inkstone is carved of a solid stone with golden yellow color, flecked with black inclusions and marked with swirling red strata. Buffed to a smooth finish, the colorful inkstone finds its place in the modern home as an unexpected soap dish.
