18th century Chinese Huanghuali Brush Pot (Bitong)
About the Item
Chinese Huanghuali Brush Pot, Bitong, an elegant simple form, well carved from one honey coloured and nicely figured limb of huanghuali (Dalbergia Odorifera) hardwood, carved as a thin walled cylinder (5/16” thick and 3-1/8”deep) with slight flared and concave contour on the sides, slightly convex mouth rim and slightly concave base flat and unmarked
Size: 4-1/16” high. Mouth: 2-3/8” in diameter. Base: 2-1/4” in diameter.
Qing Dynasty, 18th Century.
