Antique Chinese Chalcedony “Peanut and Jujube” Snuff Bottle

About the Item

Antique Chinese Chalcedony “Peanut and Jujube” Snuff Bottle, Qing Dynasty. The large pear shaped striated stone carving of a caramel colored jujube fruit (Chinese date) and two beige peanuts in high relief and two low relief banded inclusions resembling hazelnuts, well hollowed. Custom wood stand, coral cabochon stopper, brass collar and stained organic spoon, storage box. Label on base of wood stand “Wellers Goldney Collection”. Excellent condition. Overall measurements with stand: 7.6 cm x 4.5cm x 4 cm. Total weight: 87 grams. 1780 - 1850 Provenance: Constance Margaret Goldney, Ightham, Sevenoaks, Kent.
