Antique Chinese Elaborately Carved Scholar’s Bench

About the Item

A very fine antique bench with masterful carving, superb proportions and in all original condition. The crest rail and back with openwork panels of confronting dragons in the clouds. Dragon form heavy carved arms. The seat with three pink marble inset panels. The skirt with carved berries and leaves, and animals and a bird. Raised on carved legs, then front ones with animal form feet. Dimensions: Length 61", height 43", depth 24", seat height. 17" Condition: Please see detail photos. Various acceptable signs of age include a few time softened wood losses, wear to arm ends, stabile cracks to two end marble panels with the bench retaining an ornate and exceptional Asian presentation.
