Rare Pair of Late Wanli Period Miniature Chinese Porcelain Ewers (ca. 1600–1620) A charming and unusual pair of miniature blue and white ewers, beautifully hand-painted with bird and floral decoration. These finely potted pieces date to the late Ming Dynasty, during the Wanli period (circa 1600–1620). They may have originally been used as containers for oil, sauce, or other condiments, and would have likely served a functional purpose in an elite household or for export. Details: Period: Wanli (Ming Dynasty), ca. 1600–1620 Type: Pair of miniature ewers Decoration: Underglaze blue floral and bird motifs Use: Possibly for oil, sauce, or ritual Condition: One with wear to the handle; overall good antique condition (see photos) Reference: Comparable examples can be found in literature related to the Wanli shipwreck cargo, a well-documented early 17th-century maritime export event.
