About the Item

Hand embroidered in Japan, this large framed silk embroidered wall art was made in Meiji era, approximated 1900s. Very detailed hand embroidered Chicken and floral in a carved and gilt wooden frame. In Japanese culture, chickens are given many symbolic meanings. Chickens are considered a symbol of bravery and strength. In traditional Japanese culture, the sound of chickens is considered a symbol of courage and strength, and people believe that chickens can bring courage and strength. At the same time, they are also regarded as a symbol of auspiciousness, protection and holiness. This art piece is in very good antique condition with some minor blemishes due to age but definitely a collectible art. Size: 24in H x 76n W x 1.5in D Origin: Japan Circa: 1900s Material: Silk, wood, embroidered Condition: Original condition, very detailed embroidery works, normal age wear. There is a missing piece of rim on right hand side of the frame. Please check the detailed photos before placing order.
