About the Item

An antique traditional Japanese Hinamatsuri Ningyo doll for traditional Girls Day celebration, most likely from the Taisho period, 1912 to 1926. The doll depicts a Japanese emperor wearing elaborately embroidered clothing. Mounted on a rectangular wooden stand covered with textiles and woven straw mat. Usually parents receive such a doll on the first birthday of their child. Antique And Vintage Dolls For Collectors, Oriental Decorative Objects For Home Decor. Dimensions: 6 3/4 x 10 1/4 in. H 9 in.
