About the Item

Embroidery, scroll tip: wood Embroidery Size: 320 (W) x 760 (H) [mm], Overall: 470 (W) x 1650 (H) [mm] Box size: 80×70×630㎜ 800g Takeya-machi embroidery has a long history. When Toyotomi Hideyoshi developed the capital of Kyoto, he gathered embroidery artisans in Takeya-machi, and they created gorgeous embroidery. Takeya-machi, which is counted as one of the famous fabrics, is an embroidery that at first glance looks like a woven fabric. The gauze-based fabric has a coarse texture that allows the back to be seen through. It is a very delicate work, and since it cannot withstand hanging in this day and age, it has been repaired and cloth has been applied to the back. In other words, originally, only the coarse ground part in the center was hung. You can also see some of the gold foil thread, which is a characteristic of Takeya-machi. There are some missing parts in the embroidery. It is not Tomo-bako (original box), but it does come with a box.
