About the Item

An antique etched glass three panel room divider depicting classical scenes. In Louis style, this is an excellent room divider evoking elegance while giving a glimpse into the garden view of a grand French home. It is unusual to find panels such as this with a full matching scene, making these doors quite the find. The etched glass displays the garden of a grand home or royal palace. Two peacocks reside elegantly on the columned wall while swallows swoop, a fountain spurts water in the centre ahead of two fluted urns, and tapestry hangs above. The doors have a stripped finish with raised and fielded panels to both front and back. All doors have a width of 75cm (29.53in) but centre has rebate. Lowest point: 194.5cm (76.57in) Highest point: 196.5cm (77.36in) Two panels are bifold and the other is a single door.
