Bronze Push-Pull Door Handle with Contoured Design

About the Item

A sculptural bronze push or pull door handle with abstract relief. Second half 20th century (probably 1970s), found in Germany. A heavy piece, made of cast metal, with very nice changing tones from use; unpolished and retaining a heavy deep brown patina. Overall good vintage condition with signs of wear and oxidation throughout, as one might expect from age and use. The piece can be used indoors or outdoors; the abstract pattern works in any orientation. The bracket is attached to the plate by two screws on the reverse, and fits either way around; the handle can be installed using two long bolts (not supplied) to suit the thickness of your door and the weight of the metal. Approximate dimensions (as shown in main image): Main plate: H 14.5cm x W 15.5cm Depth: 7.5cm from the face of the door to the raised part of the handle design.
