n.6 Antiques Lacquered Doors with Painted Overdoor, Blue Beige Paint, Italy 1700

About the Item

Set of n. 6 antique lacquered doors, single-winged, with overdoor painted on canvas (to be revised if a restoration is needed to taste), lacquered with beige and blue tones, with central paintings, also decorated on the back, stand out imposing and important, rare to find in such a large set of identical doors, they all come from the same castle in Italy, from the 18th century. Built and hand painted, on poplar wood with frame and painted on coeval canvas, from Piedmont, total size with frame cm W 115 x H 338, internal door light cm W 90 x H 213. Really majestic and imposing, we also sell individually but they would be very beautiful and scenographic, crazy, all in sets, perhaps in a large living room (which look at each other) or as doors to rooms.

Antique Architectural Large Original Red Painted Heavily Paneled Doors
Located in Round Top, TX
These massive, heavily paneled doors are even more impressive in person. The original red paint is chipped and distressed, adding to the authentic vintage nature of this pair of salvaged exterior doors. The aged paint may easily be stripped, taking the doors back to the raw wood which will also create a powerful impression with their sheer size and heft. This rare set of extremely large doors is part of a remarkable collection currently in our inventory; see other door listings for additional options while available. In the country side of 19th century Hungary, wealthy farmers had agricultural fields outside the villages but also had a large house in town. These houses often represented the wealth of the family. Their "house in town" would have a granary next to it as they needed to carry agricultural goods by large wagons from the countryside into the village. The doors and gates had to be very tall and wide to accommodate the large wagons, which is how this set of doors (just under 10' tall) was originally used. You will see the mail slot in the left door and vintage door handle...
