Antique, Large and Stunning Embossed Brass on Wood, Decorative Firewood Bucket
About the Item
All handcrafted and rare, brass firewood bucket with an important saying.
For the collectors of quality hand-crafted and useful antiques with a deeper meaning we also have this one of a kind, 19th century firewood bucket. Only if you were a very wealthy person in Europe in the late 1800s, would you be able to afford this large, impressive and all-handcrafted firewood bucket. This good size, stunning and work of art antique would have graced the interior of a mansion where it would have kept the firewood logs. This particularly special one comes with a heraldic sign or coat of arms that reads 'PLUS EST EN VOUS' which roughly translates to 'THERE IS MORE TO YOU THAN YOU THINK' or 'YOU ARE CAPABLE OF MORE THAN YOU THINK'. This, to us, is a very important saying, because most people are hindered by their (incomplete) self image and/or fears. In the image on top of the lid you can see a bar scene in which men are sitting and drinking and smoking. This looks like a cosy scene and most people might look at it like that, but when this is all that these men ever do then maybe you better understand what the creator of this antique is trying to tell us. Plus est en vous therefor also is a cheer or a means of encouraging people to never stop learning or to keep growing as an individual. Where in this day and age can you still purchase a 'bucket' for firewood that is made to last, that can stand the test of time like this almost 150 year old antique has AND that comes with an important 'life lesson'. When used as a log bucket, this unique antique can and will instantly change the look and feel of your fireplace. Also, because this tactile antique is very well made and over the many decades its patina and aging only made it more beautiful. This one of a kind antique could hardly be in better condition and both sides still have the handforged strong brass handles. So no matter where you decide to place or use this rare antique, it will lift the atmosphere of the space it is in like no modern home accessory ever could.
Our fair price for this stunning antique even includes perfect packing (in a custom made and strenghtened box) and also free worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days.

View AllRare Antique WMF Attr. Arts & Crafts Embossed Brass Coal Kettle /Firewood Bucket
By WMF Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik
Located in Lisse, NL
Large, decorative and top quality workmanship brass, copper and bronze bucket.
This one is for the connoisseurs, because it ticks all the Arts and Crafts boxes. The first owner who would have had this piece custom made or who bought it from one of the best craftsman/manufacturers in the early Arts & Crafts era (1890-1900) simply had incredibly good taste. This likely German made antique is among the best workmanship pieces that you will ever see and both design and materials wise it is most likely made by WMF (who need no further introduction). The artisan metal worker who crafted this lidded bucket took things to a whole new level, because this is a true work of art and a statement piece of unsurpassed quality, size and detail. 'Casually' on display next to a fireplace or perhaps used as a planter or other type of bucket, the first owner was communicating that money was not an object and that he was a worldly individual. Especially 125 years ago this would have been a very rare and desirable, work of art bucket that only very few people could afford. Its perfect balance, its stunning embossed Arts and Crafts floral...
