A striking fireplace crafted in Belgium during the Mid-Century design period. This piece exemplifies a powerful mix of materials and architectural finesse. This fireplace stands as a testament to modernist ideals, crafted primarily from iron and concrete. These materials contrast in color but share a striking strength in both appearance and durability. At the heart of the design an iron chimney with a flared hood, anchoring the piece. Beneath it, a base constructed of concrete supports a central iron firebox, complete with a circular mesh grate. The fireplace can be used without the hood, beautifully exposing the wood and open fire. Its vertical composition, which tapers upward, guides the heat flow. The handle allows the user to open or close the damper, which regulates airflow through the chimney. Designed for a specific residence in Belgium, this piece is part of the integral design of the home, creating a wonderful atmosphere where conversations and relaxation take place.
