About the Item

Willy Guhl 2 Piece Cement Planter for Eternit, 1960s – A Patina Perfection Let’s talk about the statement planter your space has been dreaming of. Designed by the legendary Willy Guhl for Eternit in the 1960s, this two-piece cement beauty is giving us all the effortlessly chic vibes. With a bowl-shaped top measuring an impressive 31.25" in diameter perched atop a truncated cone base, this planter is basically the James Dean of garden decor: rugged, timeless, and impossibly cool. And the patina? Don’t even think about power washing it! This lived-in, weathered look is what makes these planters so coveted—it's like the wrinkles on a well-loved leather jacket or that perfectly distressed pair of jeans. It’s character, it’s soul, it’s history. Why erase all that good stuff? Here’s the fun part: the bowl can sit flat and level, or you can tilt it ever-so-casually to one side, giving your plants (and your style) a bit of drama. Staged level, the duo measures 16" tall—just enough height to make a statement without stealing the show. Whether poolside, patio-bound, or cozied up indoors, this planter radiates jet-set sophistication. Oh, and P.S., they’re basically the Marilyn Monroe of mid-century planters—often spotted gracing celebrity homes and designer digs. Meet Willy Guhl Willy Guhl (1915–2004) was the Swiss maestro of minimalist design. A true innovator, Guhl was one of the first to explore the potential of fiber cement, creating designs that were as durable as they were sculptural. His work with Eternit revolutionized outdoor furniture and planters, combining form and function in a way that feels as fresh today as it did in the mid-20th century. Guhl’s philosophy? Design should complement nature, not compete with it—a sentiment beautifully embodied in this timeless piece. This planter isn’t just a container for your foliage; it’s a piece of art, a slice of history, and a nod to great design. Snap it up, because treasures like this don’t grow on trees. 🌱 As can be seen photographed poolside with a Paola Lenti sofa. This would look incredible in any mid century modern, modern, or contemporary home.

Willy Guhl 31" Adjustable 2 Piece Concrete Planter, Switzerland, 1960's
By Willy Guhl
Located in Culver City, CA
Iconic Willy Guhl Planter for Eternit, 1960s – A Cement Celebrity Here we go again, folks—another jaw-dropping Willy Guhl planter for Eternit, straight from the 1960s and brimming with all those modernist vibes. This two-piece stunner is serving serious I-woke-up-like-this energy with its perfectly imperfect patina that whispers, “I’ve seen some things, darling.” Sure, you could scrub it down to look fresh-out-of-the-box new, but why? This weathered look is like vintage leather or a classic movie star—it gets better with age, and trust us, nobody is asking for a makeover. The planter features Guhl’s signature silhouette: a big, bold bowl (31.25" in diameter!) resting atop a truncated cone base. It’s modular magic—position the bowl flat and grounded, or tilt it just so for that effortlessly off-kilter, “yes, I have a design degree” aesthetic. As shown here, it measures a statuesque 16" tall, just the right height to command attention without stealing the limelight from your botanical besties. Whether gracing a sunny patio, lounging poolside at a Hollywood mansion, or bringing its rugged-chic charm indoors, this planter is pure Swiss sophistication. It’s not just a planter; it’s a moment. Who Was Willy Guhl? Oh, you haven’t heard? Willy Guhl (1915–2004) was the OG of modern outdoor design. This Swiss genius pioneered the use of fiber cement, creating pieces that were as indestructible as they were elegant. His work with Eternit was groundbreaking (literally), marrying sculptural forms with functional durability. Guhl believed design should live harmoniously with nature—a philosophy you’ll see in every timeless curve and tilt of his creations. TL;DR: This planter is everything you want—chic, rare, collectible, and packed with history. Snag it now, because let’s face it, everyone else wants it too. 🌵 Within the photos is another Guhl planter, same size and design (diff planter), photographed with a Paola Lenti outdoor...

Karl Springer Goatskin Dining Table With Custom Chrome Drum Base
By Karl Springer
Located in Culver City, CA
This dining table is simply stunning. A goatskin dining table designed by Karl Springer from the 1980s features a creamy goatskin top with hides that are both tan and nude in color with slight color variations in the hides that only come with real goatskin pieces. This large goatskin top rests on a circular chrome drum base that is a custom base for the table. This stunning table came out of a prominent home in Century City and the provenance is available upon request. The dining table top still has the original Karl Springer paper label which was included in the original wrapping of the piece / order tag, which has been affixed to the bottom by the original owner for provenance. This wrapping tag has significantly faded with time, but you can still make out the name Karl Springer at the top (especially if you snap a photo and bump up the contrast). This dining table, as photographed, looks incredible with the Guido Faleschini for Pace Collection dining chairs -- which is the exact combination the family had been using since the 1980's. With the striking chrome base, this dining table would look great with Milo Baughman thinline...

Monumental Adrian Pearsall Brutalist Wall Mounted Disc Dry Bar, 1970's
By Craft Associates, Adrian Pearsall
Located in Culver City, CA
Available right now we have this increasingly rare, mid century modern, brutalist disc bar by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates. This brutalist wall mounted disc cabinet is definitely a conversation piece-- stretching a whopping 48" in diameter, this disc dar opens to reveal a mirrored back as well as 2 shelf inserts. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and this entire brutalist line of furniture appears to have (pretty obviously) been inspired by American craft movement designer Paul Evans, who designed nearly identical pieces which were available through Directional Furniture to the trade in the 1960's and 1970's. While this piece doesn't have the pedigree of an original Paul Evans piece, what is does have is an abundance of over-the-top maximalist style with a much more palatable price tag. Without being mounted to the wall, this piece was a little tougher than an average piece to photograph, but for scale purposes we photographed it resting on the floor alongside a Fabricius and Kastholm grasshopper...
