About the Item

An English Turn of the Century iron sculpture depicting a jockey holding a ring in his left hand. Created in England during the Turn of the Century which saw the transition between the 19th to the 20th century, this iron sculpture depicts a male jockey holding a ring in his left hand. He is wearing a traditional skullcap, a fitted buttoned vest wrinkling nicely in the front, breeches and tall boots. His right arm resting on his hip and his left arm is up, likely holding his horse. He is raised on a rectangular base, his left foot slightly forward, thus creating a slight torsion in his body. The sculpture is boasting a nicely weathered patina revealing its age. With its nice proportions and rusty finish, this Turn of the Century English iron jockey sculpture circa 1900 will make for a lovely addition to any home, particularly placed in a garden!
