Antique Swedish Soapstone Stone Pot with Hand Wrought Iron and a Genuine Patina

About the Item

Antique Swedish stone pot made from a hollowed stone – soapstone. With hand wrought iron bands that wrap around and strengthens it. Made during the mid 1800s in northern Sweden. Full of character with patina and marks after frequent use. This is an unusual object as most household items had a low status and were used long and well before they were finally discarded when they either broke or went out of use. Today it is a piece of tangible history that can be used for decoration. As a fruit bowl or flower pot among many other things.
