About the Item
Beautiful vintage set of Murano hand blown sky blue over white and gold flecks Italian art glass leaf and flower shaped ashtray / dish, and cigarette / toothpick holders. Documented to designer Alfredo Barbini, and published in his Weil Ceramics and Glass catalog, circa 1950-1960. They have a silver "Venetian - Weil - Murano Italy" label still attached. Each of the pieces in this set has lots of gold leaf throughout the white inner layer. The holders have flower shapes, and the bowl has a 4 leaf clover shape. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or coffee table. Mid-century era. Taller toothpick / cigarette holder measures 2 78” tall. Ring Dish / Personal Ashtray measures 4” wide x 1 1/2" high. Smaller toothpick / cigarette holder measures 2 1/2” tall x 3 1/8” wide.

Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
