About the Item

Despite my lack of photography skills, the dishes are all perfectly round. This set of three antique porcelain dishes was hand-painted by Spode in England circa 1810. Each dish features beautiful decoration in the English Imari style, showcasing a central motif of three cobalt blue flower pots sprouting stylized foliage in soft green, with accents of salmon pink and gold. A wide border frames the scene with alternating panels: some display deep cobalt blue floral sprays, while others have warm iron red backgrounds embellished with gold lozenges. The vibrant palette of cobalt, iron red, green, and gold reflects Spode’s adaptation of Japanese Imari patterns, blending Asian inspiration with Regency-era precision. The precise hand-painting, particularly in the leafy tendrils and stippled gilt detailing, showcases the exceptional artistry of early 19th-century Spode porcelain. Dimensions: Two dishes, 8.25" diameter, and one smaller dish, 7.25" diameter; all three dishes are 1.25" deep. Condition: Excellent with the very, very slightest rubbing to the enamels Price: $880 Decoration: Hand-painted in English Imari palette with gilt accents Material: Porcelain Style: English Imari Origin: England Date: Circa 1810 Key Features • Made by Spode, England, circa 1810 • Set of 3 matching dishes • Hand-painted English Imari pattern with potted plants and foliage • Rich palette of cobalt, iron red, green, and gold • Delicate gilt detailing and fine enamel work • Excellent condition
