ABOUT
A 19th century portable Mahogany lap desk trimmed in Tiger Maple that opens up to create a writing surface on original velvet. Top and bottom lift open to reveal storage areas along with an area for writing instruments and ink wells. Brass plaques on top and side. Brass accents throughout.

DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1800-1899.
MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Mahogany, Tiger Maple, Brass.
CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor wear throughout. No key. Repair to trim left front corner, right back corner and left side middle. Missing ink wells.
