About the Item

A fine antique 19th Century brass casket or table box. In the Renaissance Revival style. With embossed brass sheet side panels, a domed lid, bail handle, and scroll & leaf work feet. Retains some of the original gilding. Decorated throughout with elaborate scroll work. Simply a wonderful Renaissance style brass casket or box! Date: Mid to Late 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition with some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Condition Details: The apparently original wood insert has been re-secured. The surface retains some of the original gilding. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age Marks: Unmarked Measurements: Width: ca. 6 in. Depth: ca. 4 1/8 in.
