About the Item

Elegant mantel clock in gilt bronze and hand-painted porcelain, crafted in the Louis XVI style and dating from the 19th century. The rectangular gilt bronze case is adorned with acanthus motifs, twisted friezes, and rests on turned feet. The clock is topped with a classical urn in turquoise blue porcelain, decorated with hand-painted flowers, foliate handles, and a gilded pinecone finial. The porcelain dial features cobalt blue Roman numerals on a white background, surrounding a pastoral scene depicting a romantic encounter in a countryside setting. An additional plaque beneath the dial illustrates a complementary figurative scene in soft tones, adding a narrative touch to the piece. This clock stands on a solid base, combining stability with elegance. The subtle contrast between the vivid blue tones, delicate pastels, and the brilliance of the gilt bronze makes it a remarkable decorative object, ideal for a mantel, console, or display cabinet.
