About the Item

A beautiful turquoise Sèvres-style clock garniture, hand-painted on 18th century Sèvres porcelaine blanks but decorated in the 19th century most probably in the workshop of Émile Lévy in Paris. The cartouches are after paintings by Vigée Lebrun, depicting mother and child in an 18th century environment and dress. The backs of the vases are also painted with scenes of men in country pursuits. The porcelaine is set in ormolu, as are the finials on the lids and the top and bases of all three pieces. French, second half of the 19th century.
