About the Item

Elegant French mantel clock in gilt and silvered bronze, made in the early 1800s for the Ottoman market. It depicts an oriental rider armed with a saber, on a rearing horse, in a typically Orientalist style. The wire suspension movement is in perfect working order. The clock comes with its original pendulum and key. Richly decorated, the base features a beautiful pattern of finely chiseled palmettes. The combination of gilt and silvered bronze highlights the contrasts and adds depth to the composition. Dimensions: Height: 50 cm Width: 40 cm Depth: 14 cm Very well preserved, with a beautiful patina. A rare and decorative collector's item, a testament to the Orientalist taste of the Empire period.
