Valme 1920 Miniature Travel Clock With Guilloché Enamel In Sterling With Box
About the Item
A miniature travel clock designed by Valmé.
Stunning miniature travel-carriage clock, made in Geneva Switzerland by the Valmé Swiss Co. This little antique clock is exceptional, created during the art deco period, back in the 1920. It was crafted with gorgeous details in solid sterling silver .935/.999 and mount on a rectangular case. The four sided panels are embellished with applications of navy blue enamel over a linear Guilloché surface. It is fitted at the reverse with a hidden hinged snap door.
Dial: The dial is round, made of white porcelain with gilded dotted borders. Black Roman numerals with blackened iron hands and signed Swiss 8 days.
Movement: Mechanical manual winding with integrated key. 15 jewels adjusted.
Weight: 93.5 Grams, (59.93 Dwt).
Measurements: 45 mm by 33 mm by 20 mm (1.77 x 1.30 x 0.79 Inches).
Hallmarks: The case is stamped with Swiss marks, the maker's mark RS, and signed, "VALME SWISS RS 15 JEWELS ADJUSTED".
Note: Guilloché is used in fine jewelry to enhance the appearance of brooches, rings and pendants. Guilloché enamel refers to metal pieces that have been given the Guilloché treatment and then covered with a translucent layer of enamel, giving the geometric patterns underneath the enamel a colorful hue.
Note: Clock has been professionally cleaned and serviced. Clock is in excellent working condition. The silver has not been polished to preserve the patina. The velvet case has some minor surface marks, lining has no tears but very minor discoloration and fraying threads. Both pieces are in original excellent antique condition.
Collateral: It is accompanied by the original designer's presentation fitted velvet case.
Condition: The overall condition of this clock is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the silver. The enamel is in perfect condition. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
