About the Item
This uniquely shaped ceramic inkwell was sculpted in France, circa 1880. The cartouche-shaped desk essential features a hand painted black and white center medallion with sailboats, farm house and blue floral motifs. The blue and white palette along with the painted motifs makes this piece very delft like in style. The inkwell/vide-poche is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use with rich patinated colors.
Measures: 14.5" W x 7" D x 5.5" H.
