About the Item
A blue, green and gold stoneware desk writing set with four pieces and golden bronze details, A French Art Nouveau desk set, circa 1900, composed of a ceramic and gilt bronze inkwell ensemble in fluid organic forms and vibrant enamel tones.
The set includes two ink pots, a tray, and a matching pen holder — all featuring a harmonious palette of deep blue, turquoise, white and black with striking crackle glaze effects.
The ceramic bodies are richly adorned with flowing colors that evoke ocean waves or molten minerals, perfectly in tune with the sinuous aesthetics of the Art Nouveau movement. The mounts are cast in gilt bronze with floral ornamentation.
