Antique patinated bronze figural thermometer of a medieval youth and his hound. Probably English this is an unusual desk thermometer with a hunting theme. Set on an oval base the standing figure of a hunter looks into the middle distance for his quarry. He is dressed in medieval clothes and wears a cap on his head with a feather in it and holds a hunting horn in his right hand. By his feet stands his lurcher hunting hound sniffing for scent. French gilt bronze ink stand depicting a young man harvesting circa 1860
Located in Central England, GB
This wonderfully detailed bronze inkstand is of unusably small proportions and was made to compliment a lady's writing table most likely. It is of an oval form with a moulded base which is mounted with a detailed bronze study of a rural scene of a young man harvesting corn with a sickle. The bushels of corn hide the inkpot which hinges back to reveal a white porcelain container...
