A rare ‘a treccia' green pulegoso glass picture frame designed by architect and designer Carlo Scarpa and produced by the famous Italian glass house, Venini, c.1938. This 'braided' glass photo frame has a light, luminous quality and is a truly stunning example of Muranese glass production at this time. Signed on the reverse of the brass support, ‘Venini/Murano’.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Patina and oxidisation to brass areas. Glass in perfect condition, no chips or cracks, There is a tiny 'abrasive' area on a particular section of the glass surround which was caused by the clamps used during the manufacturing process. (not visible).
