Bronze Sculptural Panama Chair, 21st Century by Mattia Biagi
By Mattia Biagi
Located in Culver City, CA
"Panama Bronze" is an art and design project, the result of the collaboration between the artist Mattia Biagi and Promemoria. The artist has poured hot tar on a real Panama chair, to bring the object closer to the material and to make it melt in the ground. Mattia Biagi has created what he himself called the "polarity of destruction and conservation". "Although the melted tar destroys the object it touches, in this case, the Panama chair - an elegant and finely crafted object - it simultaneously preserves it in its new and very different form". This is how the original silhouette of the Panama chair was turned into its new incarnation. Thanks to its experience in working with bronze, Promemoria has helped Mattia to refine his work of art, transforming the iconic Panama chair, designed by Romeo...

Circa 1900 Rare Odd Fellows Triangular Initiation Rite Chair Seat
Located in Point Richmond, CA
A rare triangular wooden seat studded with iron spikes, with remnants of black paint along the borders. During the initiation of new members, candidates were blindfolded after being shown a triangular chair with a seat of metal studs, such as this, on which they were to sit to prove their worthiness. While they were being led, blindfolded, to the chair, an identical rubber-studded triangle was substituted, allowing for a slightly softer landing. The Fellowship’s motto is Amicitia, Amor et Veritas or “Friendship, Love and Truth,” and began in Manchester, England, 26 April 1819. This rite is also said to have been used by the Knights of Pythias...

“Eye of the Pyramid” in Lucite by Bijan Bahar
By Bijan Bahar
Located in Palm Springs, CA
A monumental four-part sculpture that fits together to form a four-sided pyramid titled "Eye of the Pyramid" by the noted late artist Bijan Bahar. Mr Bahar sadly passed away a couple of years ago. We had the pleasure of getting to know him as he spent his last few years in Palm Springs. This was created in the late 1980s and is signed and numbered 5/6. It is in good age appropriate condition but has been recently re-polished. There are some minor marks from handling but nothing major. There is some cloudiness to the lucite from age. Note the bottom is sanded to a Frost finish by the artist. Each piece is signed and numbered. It was purchased directly from the artist and his team re-polished it. Please note that Bijan blunted the points of the tops for safety reasons when he created the sculpture. A bio af the artist follows: Museum Shows / Collections Some of Commissions / Collections Irvine Foundation, Los Angeles, CA Mr. R. Lichtenstein, Int. Thoscene Bronze Sculpture
By John Brevard
Located in Coral Gables, FL
Thoscene: Thoughts creating your forms We are all unique in our forms and expressions. Thoscene was created to celebrate our individuality and connectedness. We have a fascination with the impact of new technologies on design, architecture and consciousness. We are at the forefront of the parametric computational design processes and 3D fabrication techniques. For the past 8 years, we have been focused on how to develop and leverage these innovations to pave the way for the first truly personalized design experience. We created the Thoscene customization platform to help people connect more deeply with themselves. Thoscene is the generation engine of these forms inspired by you. Through the Thoscene platform, customers can order one of a kind art pieces that are based on personal inputs such as time, date and location of birth. Thoscene exists for clients to connect more deeply and have a truly personal virtual experience by tapping into the spirit of design oriented users. Thoscene stands to represent an emergence of the timeless with the infinite. Using your astrological data, natural patterns, and sacred geometries, This Thoscene sculpture reveals the relationship between form and our unique human experience.  Thoscene uses this data along with parametric modeling tools to bring people a truly personalized design experience. Through the Thoscene platform, cleints can order one of a kind art pieces that are based on personal inputs such as time, date and location of birth, or a mixture of your families data.  Thoscene stands to represent an emergence of the timeless and eternal with a singular goal to honor our connectedness and individuality. How It Works: 1.Choose the type and size 2.Let us know your month, day, and location of birth 4.We create and render your 3D based on your personal attributes   Thoscene uses your date of birth and forms an experience design, based ones propensity towards different character traits (based on your astrological and vedic data).   If someone’s chart shows that the person is more prone towards being more expressive or extroverted, the design will become more extroverted to the degree at which the expression exists.   The designs are expressed in six unique series, Fabri, Orthofract, Verahedra, Morphogen, and Spherical are based on natural geometries and phenomenology. Their combined forms coalesce into Singularity, whose theme reflects the inseparable relationship of the part to the whole.   These designs reflect the inner strength and boldness of every individual, inspiring a way of living...
