About the Item

Gaston Le Bourgeois (1880 - circa 1956) 1928, ostrich sculpture made of stoneware from "Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres" This item was produced only 5 times from 1928 to 1930! Monogram of the modeller "VR Gaston Le Bourgeois participated in the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in 1925 to decorate the pavilion of the "Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres". Among other things, he created two ostrich birds in earthenware to border sculptor Henri Bouchard's fountain. These were so successful that the manufactory decided to acquire the rights in 1926. Only five more of these sculptures were made between 1928 and 1930, due to the technical difficulties of making such large pieces.
