Zanetti depicts an elephant mid-stride, a tiger resting below, and a nude female rider in an animated pose. Carved from richly grained, varnished wood, the figures are captured in motion, the elephant's legs striding forward. Seated atop the elephant, the woman's swirling coiffure and outstretched arm convey a sense of vitality and farewell. A fine bronze casted sculpture of a Elephant with a calf, resting on a black Belgium marble base. The bronze has the original olive-brown patina. It is made in France, circa 1930-1940. Signed: Irénée ROCHARD. The sculpture has a beautiful patina and is in good condition. After casting the bronze is finely finished with fine chisels, for the fine details. This chiseling process was an enormously time-consuming job.
