About the Item
Small, but elegant. This beautiful porcelain sculpture shows a billy goat laying down. Black goat with white horns and beautiful details with almost an abstract features so typical for the midcentury era of sculptures. The sculpture was produced by Royal Dux company in Czech Republic in 1960s. Royal Dux has a long tradition of porcelain making. The sculpture has an original label on the back and a company mark on the bottom. Beautiful item in an excellent condition without any wear or damage.

Royal Dux Bohemia
Royal Dux is a porcelain company based in the Czech Republic that manufactures figurines, vases and other ceramics and objects in neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles. Some of the company’s most popular pieces include the Bohemia centerpiece as well as their Elephant figurine.
A member of the Czech Porcelain Group, Roya Dux has produced its brand of figural and decorative porcelain works since 1853. Model expert Eduard Eichler established the company in Duchov, Bohemia, in 1860 and ran Royal Dux Bohemia until his death in 1887, recreating historical designs from England, Denmark and France. At the start of the 20th century, the company enjoyed remarkable success thanks to the works of the designer Alois Hampel.
Royal Dux porcelain pieces are designated by their trademark pink triangle, which serves as a certificate of authentication. The company enjoyed a renaissance in 1958 owing to the display of Jaroslav Ježek’s collection at the world exhibition in Brussels that year.
In 1992, the Duchov factory rebranded itself as Royal Dux.
