About the Item
A refined and whimsical flamingo sculpture by Fondica France, celebrated for their imaginative and finely crafted decorative objects. This sculptural bird is rendered in warm silver plate with a high-gloss black enamel body, creating a striking juxtaposition of materials and finishes. The flamingo’s graceful form is accentuated by its elongated neck, stylized beak, and elegantly crossed legs, all resting on a mirrored brass base.
Beyond its decorative appeal, the body of the bird cleverly opens to reveal a hidden compartment, supported by its original interior brass armature—highlighting the thoughtful design and playful functionality characteristic of Fondica's work.
This sculpture has be thoughtfully restored. the Silver plated on the head, neck, and legs has been polished by hand and retains a warm patina. The body (compartment) has been freshly painted in Mercedes high gloss black paint but retains the "velvet" interior.7,800 The brass plate has been machine polished and has a clear coat finish to retard tarnish. this rests upon a wood base.
