Rare, pair of 13th century, Romanesque, marble, recumbent lions Recumbent lions were popular in 11th-13th century Italian architecture with pairs often supporting columns in a cathedral portico, it is rare for a pair to remain together - The features on the faces, manes and the paws are still distinctive and full of character. - They have developed a beautiful patina over time and exude wonderful quality and timelessness of the ancient world Measures: Length 30cm, 12 inches, depth 24cm, 9½ inches, height 19cm, 7 ½ inches.
