Pair of Chinese Marble Lions from the XIX century Elegant lions of the Quing Dynasty carved in white marble with chisel. They are in good condition. They come from a Spain Embassy.These mythical animals are guardians that are represented in pairs, with one or both front legs resting on an era. They usually guard the entrance to temples and tombs to anoint demons and other evil spirits. They are animals, symbol of energy and courage. When guarding the entrance to a sacred space, couples are depicted. The male holds an orb under his paw and the female holds a calf. Measurement: 93 x 35 x 27 CM.
