Murano Barbini Gold Flecks White Italian Art Glass Kitty Cat Sculpture Figurine
About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown white and gold flecks Italian art glass kitty cat sculpture figurine. The piece is attributed to designer Alfredo Barbini. The cat is profusely covered in heavy gold leaf, with applied black accents on the face forming its eyes, nose and mouth. It also has a clear glass bow around its neck. The figure stands on a round disk base, also in white and gold. Would make a great companion at your desk, vanity or display it in a curio cabinet. Very elegant and masterfully detailed. Please note - any pink color on the clear glass of the cat is just a reflection of my wall, and not a color inside the cat. I noticed you can see this in a few go the photos, so wanted to mention it. Mid-century era. Measures: 6” tall x 4" long x 2" wide a the base.
