Early 21st century, one-of-a-kind sculpture in the shape of a jumping cat on a handmade nickel base. This Work of Art is signed by Alfredo Barbini in white blown Murano glass, decorated with an elongated dark gray Murrina on the back, highlighted by yellow stripes and black accents, the face in a Picasso style with green eyes, blue nose, and dark red lips gives humor to this creation.

Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
