Porcelain figurine in the shape of a Wire Fox Terrier by Hutschenreuter Selb 50s

About the Item

Lovely porcelain figurine made in Germany, to be precise in Bavaria, an area known for the high quality of its porcelain, between the 30s and 50s. The manufacturer that produced this splendid vintage figurine in the shape of a dog, as attested by the brand on the base, is the historic company Hutschenreuther Selb (Königszelt) founded in 1814 in Hohenberg and acquired in 2000 by Rosenthal. The items produced by this company are still handmade with love and richly decorated and painted. Characterized by a thin design and realistic colors, Hutschenreuther Selb has created several figurines depicting the animal world in a truly realistic way but with a delicate and sometimes simpering style, which makes them "reassuring" as if they came out of old illustrated books for children. This particular figurine depicts a Wire Fox Terrier lying down but alert, the thin brush strokes used to create the languid eye are incredible and make it very realistic. The conditions of this item are good, it has no breaks or particular defects. Reach out for any additional questions.
