About the Item

Crystal sculpture DAUM France Penguin. ORIGIN France PERIOD 1990s MARK DAUM France The Daum France glassworks is a historic French manufacture of artistic crystal, founded in Nancy in 1878 by Jean Daum. Renowned for her refined production, Daum played a central role in the Art Nouveau movement, thanks in part to her collaboration with artists such as Émile Gallé. Over the years, the maison has developed a distinctive technique: pâte de verre (glass paste), which allows fine details and extraordinary color rendition. This technique, rediscovered and perfected in the 20th century, has become the house's trademark. Daum's creations range from vases and sculptures to decorative objects, often produced in limited series or as one-of-a-kind collectibles. Many pieces are the result of collaborations with contemporary artists and designers, including Salvador Dalí, Arman and César Baldaccini. Daum products are exhibited in major museums and are part of prestigious collections. Today the company continues to represent French excellence in art glass, combining traditional craftsmanship and modern art.
