19th Century French Parain Group Of Young Woman Accompanied By A Ram

About the Item

A beautiful and superb quality 19th century French parian group of a young female on naturalistic base accompanied by a ram. Stamped to base Condition: Excellent Circa 1880 French Location: Dublin City, Ireland. Parian Ware: A type of white porcelain with a slightly granular surface resembling the pure white, highly prized marble used for sculpture from the Greek island of Paros. It was used mainly for busts and figures produced by casting and was first invented and made in England in the 1840s by the Staffordshire pottery manufacturer Mintons.
