About the Item

Beautiful glass sculpture made by Italian Murano Glass Master Silvano Signoretto (born 1948) during the 1990s. The sculpture shows a sitting dog, hand crafted of transparent Murano glass. The inside of the glass head is decorated with small golden particles, which reflects beautifully depending on the light. The sculpture is signed with Silvano Signoretto original signature. It is without any damage, no chips or repairs. Under the sculpture light normal vintage scratches. Please check out all pictures. Born in Murano in 1948, Silvano Signoretto began to train at the age of eight, in the furnace of the unforgettable glass maestro Alfredo Barbini. After learning the craftsmanship of glassmaking he started working in the renowned glass houses of Gino Cenedese, F.lli Cattelan, and Renato Mazzega among the others. Then he began to cooperate with important designers like professor De Lai. Silvano Signoretto not only excels in the production of vases, mirrors and chandeliers, he puts his art at the service of the greatest international plastic artists and designers and collaborates with the house Venini, before devoting himself definitively to his own creations. Today, a world-renowned artist, he is exhibited in major international galleries.
